Joseph Bosworth, A dictionary of the Anglo-Saxon Language (London, etc., 1838), letters F-Y, cut up and pasted into eleven volumes, with notes and additions in Bosworth's hand, and in two other hands, one probably that of T.N. Toller, whose Anglo-Saxon dictionary based on the manuscript collections of the late Joseph Bosworth, was published at Oxford, 1882.

Joseph Bosworth (1789-1876) was an Anglo-Saxon scholar and lexicographer. He was Rawlinson Professor of Anglo-Saxon at the University of Oxford. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.

Acquisition Information
The collection was given to the Library by Bosworth's executors, 1876-8. It was lent to T.N. Toller, and returned to the Library in 1926.
