Alexandra Davidson was born 19 June 1909. She attended Coatbridge High School and trained as a teacher at Jordanhill College of Education, Glasgow from 1927 to 1929. She married Archie Gillespie in 1939. During the Second World War, she taught at Coatbridge High School. She died in 1994.
