Scope and Content

Indulgence granted by Robert Bolton, 'minister domorum' of [the Trinitarian House of] St Robert of Knaresburgh in York diocese, and of St Radegund of Chelesford in Worcester diocese, under authority granted by Pope Pius II and dated 16 Kal Feb 1458. Grantees are Thomas ache Forde [or ?athe Forde] and Alice his wife. 1465, seal wanting. Endorsed in pencil: '32'. Some corrections and coloured embellishment. There was an Alice ate Forth in Orwell at the time of the Lay Subsidy of 1327.
