Comprises committee minute books; correspondence, booklets and other papers relating to the society. Includes material used by J.W. Rogerson in compiling a short history of the society, 1917-1993.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Society for Old Testament study was founded in 1917 in London with the aim of furthering Old Testament research, teaching, producing and sponsoring publications. Founder members were associated with the University of Wales.

Arrangement

Material was received on different occasions, arranged in chronological order and incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts .
