This collection comprises 12 personal recordings made by Reginald Ernest Cooper (1901-1993) regarding his life and businesses in Leicester and Mountsorrel from the 1920s to around the 1960s.

Administrative / Biographical History

Reginald Ernest Cooper was born in 1901 in [Aylestone village]. He owned various businesses including selling hosiery in the markets, a news agency, a laundry and an advertising business. He died in 1993. This collection was acquired from the Newarke House Museum and previously known as the Tomlyn collection.
