Ethel M. Young was the granddaughter of Sir Frederick Young (1817-1913), traveller and writer on imperial affairs.

Acquisition Information
Presented by Miss Gladys Salmon, 1955. Miss Salmon found the memoir among the papers of her father Edward Salmon, who received it from Ethel Young on 26 May 1939, when Salmon was editor of 'United empire'.
