National Carriers' Friendly Society

Scope and Content

Rulebooks, c.1920, c.1928.

Administrative / Biographical History

The London-based National Carriers' Provident Society, later renamed the National Carriers' Friendly Society, seems to have been affiliated to the National Union of Carriers (which was established in 1910 and merged with the United Vehicle Workers in 1920, and therefore became part of the Transport and General Workers' Union on its creation in 1922). The society seems to have still been in existence, administered by the T&G, in 1934.
