Address: 14 White Conduit Grove, Islington, [London]. To Joseph Hume MP, Bryanstone Square, [London]. Covering letter to a copy of 'An Address to the People of Scotland ...' [a work on the human constitution and scriptural education], written by [George Combe, the phrenologist] a relative of Scott's; Scott describes the author as a tradesman living in Edinburgh, of 'radical views and reforming temper'.
Autograph, with signature. Annotated in Hume's hand: 'Recd & ansd 6 Jnry 1837'.
