Signed minutes, 1911-1945, including the minutes of its Demarcation Committee (1913-30); circulars relating to national wages and working conditions and the Federated Admiralty Contractors' representation on the General Council of the Engineering Employers' Federation, 1939-1965; register of case files, 1911-1965; register of correspondence, 1912-1940; printed agreements, 1911-1913, 1928.

The collection forms part of the much larger archive of the Engineering Employers' Federation (MSS.237), its creating body having been a constituent organisation of the EEF.

Administrative / Biographical History

Originally the Warshipbuilders' Committee, 1899-1911, its name was changed to the Dockyard Contractors' Committee in May 1911 and to the Federated Admiralty Contractors (FAC) in July 1914. The committees belonged to the Engineering Employers' Federation.

Acquisition Information

The records of the Federated Admiralty Contractors were deposited with the Centre by the Engineering Employers' Federation in 1982.
