Scope and Content

Whereas, in a recognizance in the form of a statute staple bearing even date with the present document, Edmund Syler esq of Morton, Lincolnshire, and John Danvers esq of Ibsley, parish of Goreley, Hampshire, have become bound to Sarah Simpson of Cambridge, spinster, in #600, Simpson now declares that the bond shall be void if Syler and Danvers pay her #309 on 30 Dec 1676. Indenture, signed and sealed by Simpson, witnessed by ?Job Ray' and Alice Edwards. Defeazance of a statute staple. Endorsed: '30', and : 'Mrs Simpsons defeazance of / a statute to Coll Syler et al'.
