Augustus De Morgan correspondence with the University of London Council

Scope and Content

(1) Address: 90 Guilford Street, [London]. Draft letter from De Morgan [to the Unversity Council]. Resigns his professorship on account of the removal from his charis of Mr Pattison 'without any fault of his own. This being understood I should think it discreditable to hold a professorship under you one moment longer.' Autograph, with signature (24 July 1831).
(2) Reply from Coates on behalf of the Council, accepting the resignation (27 July 1831).
