Scope and Content

At a Court Baron of Mary [Compton]...of Northampton, lady of the Manor of Fenstanton, Cambs., before John Mason, dep. Steward of William Ferrar, chief steward of the Manor: The homage finds that William Ilger, carpenter, of Hilton, did out of Court surrender 7 June 1697 by Mathew Elmes and Michael Ilger, 2 customary tenants arable lands...lying in Hilton which he had by surrender from William Stennage of Offord Darcy, Hunts., husbandman, and Alice his wife...for the use of John Fryour of Elsworth, Cambs., who is now in Court and prays to be admitted. Signed by John Mason.
