Pen and ink pictorial border design, on board, created by Celia Anna Levetus (1874-1936). Surrounds a verse titled 'Sybil' by Edward Lewis Levetus.

Administrative / Biographical History

Celia Anna Levetus (1874-1936), an illustrator based in Birmingham, whose work included illustrations accompanying a collection of translations of Turkish Fairy and folk tales (1896).

She is to be distinguished from her near name-sake, Celia Levetus (nee Moss) (c 1819-1873), also an illustrator and one-time resident of Birmingham.
