Rev. W. Ceinion Thomas Scrapbook

Scope and Content

Scrapbook belonging to the Rev. W. Ceinion Thomas. Among the contents are newspaper cuttings relating to the Welsh Tithe War, letters or portions of letters from Rev. R. Herber Evans, John Thomas (Pencerdd Gwalia), D. Silvan Evans and N. Cynhafal Jones, and part of a sermon in the autograph of the Rev. John Jones, Tal-y-Sarn.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Thomas was a Congregational minister and a journalist, born at Bangor, Gwynedd in 1856. He attended the Bala Independent College and there he added "Ceinion" to his name. He served as minister at Llanfairfechan, Y Felinheli, Penmynydd, Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll, Menai Bridge and Beaumaris. He was married twice and had seven sons and a daughter. He died in 1932.
