Papers of Robert Roberts, Llanberis

Scope and Content

A series of letters, 1932 - 1936, written by Robert Roberts to W. Gilbert Williams of Rhostryfan. He writes in detail about the ancestors of some families from Bontnewydd and the surrounding area. Also, two letters from Robert Roberts to Glan Rhyddallt of Llanrug.

Several note books full of selections of poetry and quotations from articles in Y Cymru, Y Genhinen and other sources. One item includes quotes from Gleanings from God's acre by Myrddin Fardd and others have many references to pedigrees of local families.

Administrative / Biographical History

Robert Roberts lived at 3 Field Terrace, Llanberis, Caernarfonshire in the 1930's. He is described by the cataloguer of his papers as a cultured and literary man who took an interest in old tales and stories. No further biographical information was available at time of compilation of description.

Arrangement

Incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts . There is no apparent system of arrangement.
