Administrative / Biographical History

The Fletchers farmed in the Oddington area of Gloucester and the records came into the donor's possession through his grandmother. The Edgingtons originally farmed at Maugersbury, Gloucester. The donor's grandfather moved to Upper Court Farm, Chadlington, Oxford, in the Late 19th century. His father migrated to Temple Guiting in 1904 and to Milton under Wychwood in 1914. High Lodge Farm was purchased in 1922 and Castle Farm rented in 1928

Farm size: Hyde Farm: 275 acres; tenants to Hugh Andrews; High Lodge Farm: 312 acres; tenants to Earl Ducie and Lady Eversley until 1922; Castle Farm: 224 acres; tenants to Rhys-Wingfield of Barrington Park Estate; Soil types all stone brash
