Papers relating to the sugar estates of La Palma (and the coffee estate of La Buena Esperanza) in Cuba, owned by Henry E. Emerson esq. and his heir. Many entries relate to the rebellion in the island 1869-73. The papers include legal documents, correspondence, accounts, day-books, weekly records of work done, lists of negroes, the diary of a La Palma worker, and an infirmary book.
