Administrative / Biographical History

With the 1947 National Health Service (Scotland) Act, the Eastern Region Hospital Board was created to manage hospital provision in Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross. With reorganisation in the 1970s, this role was undertaken by Tayside Health Board, whose districts corresponded with the local authority boundaries.

Open for consultation subject to preservation requirements. Access must also conform to the restrictions of the Data Protection Act and any other appropriate legislation. Normal closure period of 30 years applies.

The records were deposited by the Tayside Health Board 1998-2000 (AccM/368, AccM/369, AccM/404).
