Scope and Content

3 shop account books dating from 1847 to 1867, written in Welsh, listing personal names, place names and goods sold at the shop e.g. tea, treacle, butter, meat, potatoes, velvet, salt, pepper and cheese, amongst other items.

Administrative / Biographical History

No administrative details regarding the shop at Rhostryfan, Caernarfonshire were available at time of compilation of description. It is evident from the account books however that the store supplied the local people with a great variety of provisions.

Arranged chronologically and incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts.
