Administrative / Biographical History

The Association of Public Wharfingers of the Port of London was founded in 1854. In 1937, it was renamed the London Association of Public Wharfingers Ltd and between 1963 and 1966 it became the London Wharfingers' Association Ltd (LWA). It absorbed theFederation of London Public Wharfingers in September 1966. The association was dissolved in June 1993.
