Scope and Content

William Halsteyn of Maddyngle [Madingley], senior, confirms his gift (with warranty) to Robert of Watlesfelde, burgess of Cambridge, of one selion of arable land in the fields of Madingley, on Brounnesdole, between the land of Sir Thomas of Hasalarton [Harlton] and the land formerly belonging to James Egle, one extremity abutting on the headland ('forera') formerly belonging to Geoffrey Burdeleys, and the other end abutting on land of the aforesaid Robert. Deed poll, witnessed by William ?Tylmyn, William atte Dich, Henry Sculton, Peter atte Schryne, John Faber, and others. Black hexagonal seal: two beasts. Endorsed in ?sixteenth-century hand: 'Robert ?Chaunceler / Brannysdole'. Further endorsed in pencil: '48'.
