G. R. Roupell, Captain, 1st Battalion, East Surrey Regiment, and Staff Officer, served in North Russia and was held POW (Prisoner of War) in Moscow, 1919-1920. He was awarded the VC (Victoria Cross) and later became a Brigadier.
