The collection consists of diaries, from 1900 to 1963 (20 vols) and included 3 diaries of Florence Smith, sister of Margaret, 1905-07. It also contains records of share dividends, 1955-1961, and an income tax return, 1961-1962.

Administrative / Biographical History
Margaret Smith was born in 1884. She studied History at Girton College 1904-1907 and was the Amelia Gurney Graduate Scholar at Girton 1926-1928, later becoming the Jex-Blake Research Fellow there from 1932 to 1935. She was widely published on subjects including Islam, and mysticism. She died in 1970.
