The company was named Somerville & Morrison and became a limited company in 1936 following the investment of a family friend, Dr Tom Morrison. Somerville & Morrison moved premesis to 24 Bardonald Street, Rutherglen in 2004. At this time it made many different products, including bitumen laminates (bitumastic papers), waxed laminates (creped papers), waxed kraft (engineering papers), corrugated papers and a number of products used within the sector of the Ministry of Defence.

The company was always run by the Somerville family, with the last directors being Tom Somerville, John Somerville's great grandson, and his wife Valerie.
