The Round Table Conference was convened in 1965 by the Prime Minister Sirr al-Khatim al-Khalifa to address the problem of the South. The conference was originally scheduled to take place in Juba but unrest there led to the migration of theconference to Khartoum where it was held between 16 and 29 March.
