Diaries of Mr E. M. Edmunds and Jane Edmunds, his wife

Scope and Content

The diaries date from 1873 - 1929 and in most cases there are two diaries for every year, one written by Mr Edmunds, the other by Jane Edmunds. Those belonging to Jane include details of daily farm tasks and duties with references to the weather, fairs and meetings, and in particular Wesleyan chapel meetings and services.

The farm diaries include weather notes, information regarding ordinary expenses, details regarding prices and wages and notes of Wesleyan chapel services.
