Administrative / Biographical History
Evan Jones, 1820-1852, of Dolgellau, Merioneth, was known by his bardic name, Ieuan Gwynedd. He was a minister with the Congregationalists, serving in Saron Chapel in Tredegar. He was also a journalist, working as the editor of several journals including The Principality, Y Gymraes and the Adolygydd. He died on 22 February 1852 and was buried on the 25th.
