Scope and Content

Papers and correspondence of Sara Taylor (1988- ), writer. The collection is composed of her literary papers – novel manuscripts, correspondence, notebooks and research papers. In particular they relate to the novels The Shore and The Lauras . Also included are submissions and workshopped pieces from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) (2013) at the University of East Anglia.

Administrative / Biographical History

Sara Taylor was born in the state of Virginia, USA. She holds an MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) from the University of East Anglia (2013), and completed the Ph.D. in Creative and Critical Writing at UEA in 2017 with the submission of a thesis on extra-legal censorship and the U.S. education system. Besides writing fiction and occasional teaching, she acts as co-director and editor at Seam Editions. Her first novel The Shore (2015) was long listed for the Baileys Women's Fiction Prize and shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year. This was followed by The Lauras in 2016.

Her short fiction has been published electronically and in print in The Fiddlehead, The Fog Horn, and Granta, among other places. Her novels are published by William Heinemann in the UK, Hogarth in the US, and Bond Street Books in Canada.
