Henry Selby Msimang (1888 - ?) was the son of Joel Msimang, founder of the Independent Methodist Church of South Africa. From 1903-1907 he studied at the Kilnerton Training Institution, Pretoria and Healdtown, Cape, qualifying as a teacher. As a clerk for Pixley Seme he was present at the founding of the African National Congress in 1912. In 1920 he helped to form the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union and throughout the 1920s-30s he was a member of the ANC National Executive. In 1948 he was elected to the Natives' Representative Council for Natal. He was among the founder members of the Liberal Party in 1953
