Administrative / Biographical History
Both Sir George Lee and Dr. John Lee were ecclesiastical lawyers. Sir George Lee held simultaneously the offices of Dean of Arches and judge of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, 1751-8, and was also M.P. for Launceston, 1754-8. John Lee was a member of Doctors' Commons, and was also treasurer of the Numismatic Society, 1837, president of the Chronological Institute of London, 1853-8, and president of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1861-2.
