Administrative / Biographical History

The school was known by several titles, officially and unofficially, from its opening in September 1928 until 1972, when it became the Schofield College of Further Education. Details of the various changes in title can be found in a memorandum by the Prinicpal following his report of January 1953 (SC2/2/2). The college was named after Alderman G. Schofield on the opening of new premises in Park Road in 1939
