Administrative / Biographical History

The union was formed in 1971 by the amalgamation of the National Union of Furniture Trade Operatives and the Amalgamated Society of Woodcutting Machinists. In 1994 it merged with the General, Municipal, Boilermakers and Allied Trades Union.
