Scope and Content

Selections of correspondence on theological subjects, 1852-1892, compiled by G.A.S. Schneider dealing mainly with textual criticism of the New Testament, 1022 pages. The letters are arranged chronologically under five subject headings, with a preface and indexes. The versos are blank throughout. The correspondence is principally with B.F. Some of the letters or particular passages from them have been printed in A.F. Hort, ed., Life and letters of F.J.A. Hort (London, 1895) and Arthur Westcott, ed., Life and letters of B.F. Westcott (London, 1903).

Additional Information

F.J.A. Hort's son A.F. Hort went through the boxes of letters and destroyed those he considered were no longer required. It is therefore assumed that the originals no longer exist.
