H.M. Brock: Illustrations for Swahili bible etc.

Scope and Content

The 102 drawings catalogued here are original pen-and-ink illustrations for books of Old and New Testament stories published for children. Each is drawn on card (11/12½ inches x 8½/10 inches), and signed by Brock, with a title in his hand (often the Biblical verse to which the drawing relates). Some were afterwards recycled as illustrations to a translation of the Bible into Swahili (28 of the 102 have been annotated by the printer for use in this publication).
