Scope and Content

Richard Olf of Swavesey grants to the church of St Andrew in Swavesey certain land held by his brother Ivo. He also grants certain land of William son of Ambrose his grandson. He has made the gift on behalf of the souls of his father and mother, his wife Ingrid and all his relatives. The following were present at the presentation: Benedict, then prior; Robert Walter, monk; Thomas, chaplain; Geoffrey of Fornell; Robert his brother; William son of Andrew; Peter his brother; Michael of Paston; Alexander; Hugo, cleric; Symon son of Henry; Terricus; Lambert his son; Rainald, cleric; Stephen, cook; Durand, cleric; Richard, cleric; Roger, official of the monastery; and many more. He placed the gift on the altar of St Andrew in the presence of all the parish. On the back in a 16th century hand: 'donacio ecclesie de Swavesey emendenc'. 'cf. Rye Feet of Fines.
