Collects in verse

Scope and Content

Manuscript copy of the collects of the Church of England, rendered into verse with accompanying musical scores, made by Alexander Watford of Cambridge in 1840. This particular copy was presented to John Graham, Master of Christ College, University of Cambridge and Vice-Chancellor of the University, 1841.

The volume also incorporates text and copy letter in explanation of both the compilation and of the gift and includes two watercolour sketches

Custodial History

According to information supplied by the donor, he purchased it from a resident of Spain who, in turn, had purchased it from a car boot sale near Sandringham many years previously.
