Recorded interviews recording the events of the 1984-1985 Miners' Strike and the opinions of pickets, miners' leaders, defending solicitors, Lodge Committee members, support group members, Miners' Institute members and other individuals during the actual strike. The recordings were made during the strike of 1984-1985 but cover the period 1970-1985 in subject matter.

The Welsh Council for Civil and Political Liberties Study was sponsored by the WelshCouncil for Political Liberties. It was established out of concern for injustices made towards the miners during the 1984-1985 Miners' Strike. The project was carried out by the University of Wales Swansea.
