In 1975 Dr Huiskamp spent six months at the Industrial Relations Research Unit at the University of Warwick researching his PhD on shop stewards in the British engineering industry: 'Shop stewards en arbeiderszeggenschap. Een onderzoek naar arbeidsverhoudingen in de Britse metaalverwerkende industrie 1830-1975' (Reeks Arbeidsverhoudingen; Samson, Alphen aan den Rijn, Brussel, 1976). These papers were collected during that period.
