Scope and Content

This collection includes: group committee and annual general meeting minutes and agendas; annual reports; financial records; programmes of study conferences; group newsletter.

Administrative / Biographical History

The group was formed in 1961 as the Training Colleges and Institutes of Education Sub-Section of the University and Research Section of the Library Association. In 1966 its name was changed to the Colleges, Institutes and Schools of Education Sub-Section and in 1969 it became the Colleges, Institutes and Schools of Education Group. It became the Education Librarians' Group in 1981. It aimed to represent members of the library and information profession involved in supporting education and lifelong learning.
