The village of Cefn-mawr in Denbighshire witnessed a great increase in population at the turn of the 19th century with the industrial revolution. Amongst the religious pioneers of the time were Evan Evans, Rev. Ellis Evans and Abel Jones Parry.
No biographical information was available at time of compilation of description regarding J.H. Phillips, the author of this history.
