Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Association of Teachers in Colleges and Departments of Education was formed in 1943 by the merger of the Training College Association (founded 1891) and the Council of Principals (founded 1913). In 1976 it amalgamated with the Association of Teachers in Technical Institutions to form the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education.
