Scope and Content

2 shop account books dating from 1829 to 1848, written in Welsh. They provide important and interesting documentary evidence regarding the nature of a country store in Caernarfonshire in the 19th century.

Administrative / Biographical History

No administrative details regarding Ty Cerrig shop at Boduan were available at time of compilation of description, other than what could be gathered from the account books. Evidently, the general store supplied a variety of goods, ranging from candles, tobacco and soap to flour, butter and tea.

Boduan is located on the Llyn peninsula, Caernarfonshire.

Arrangement

Arranged chronologically where possible, and incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts.
