Administrative / Biographical History

Henry William Brookling (b. 1895), a Private, 15th Battalion, London Regiment (Civil Service Rifles), served on the Western Front, Mar. 1915-Jan. 1916; as Captain, 11th and 17th Battalions, Royal Fusiliers, he then served on the Western Front from 7 Mar. 1917. He was taken as a POW (Prisoner of War) on 23 Mar. 1918 and awarded the Belgian Croix de Guerre and the MC (Military Cross) in 1918.
