Histories of cycling clubs and associations plus the cycling theses of Dr Andrew Millward, relating to the cycling industry in the UK, 1870-1939, submitted in 1996 and 1999 and some individual .

Administrative / Biographical History

Artificial collection. First item came from John Pinkerton via the National Cycle Archive; MSS.328/N29/2-14 from the papers of Harry Aspden (MSS.328/N47), now part of the National Cycle Archive. Theses on the cycle industry were deposited by the author. Other items, not forming part of other collections, continue to be added.

Arrangement

The catalogues are arranged in order of deposit. This is compatible with ISAD(G): General International Standard Archival Description (2000).

Acquisition Information

These papers were deposited in the Centre by the National Cycle Archive, 3 June 2001, and transferred from Harry Aspden's papers, October 2004. A further deposit took place 2 February 2006. Further items deposited by Dr Andrew Millward or other donors as indicated.
