Scope and Content

Joseph Denston, gent., of Downham, Cambs., leaves to his wife Mary an annuity of £30, and all the household goods and furniture in the hall and 2 parlours. To his nephew, William Martin and his heirs, all his lands in Downham and Upwell, Norfolk and all his real and personal estate, in trust to pay therefrom the annuity to his wife; also £10 a year to each of his sisters Ruth, wife of John Barret, and Rebecca, wife of John Hopkin, after the death of their respective husbands; also £50 apiece to each of his nephews and nieces on their attaining 21 years of age, viz John Barret, Joseph B., Sarah, Ruth, Mary, and Frances Barret, and to John, William, Philip, Denston, Joseph, Rebecca, Frances, and Margaret Hopkin...Signed Joseph Denston.
