Gwyneth Evans Notebooks

Scope and Content

Comprises notes by Gwyneth Evans, c. 1930, on her research into Colonel John Jones, the regicide.

Administrative / Biographical History

Gwyneth Evans studied the career of Colonel John Jones of Maesygarnedd, the regicide, and intended to base her MA thesis on this research, much of which was carried out at the Public Record Office. However she found that the range and nature of the available evidence was inadequate and instead graduated from the University of Wales, Bangor with a thesis entitled Charles Watkin Williams Wynn, 1775-1850, which was completed in 1935. She later took up a position at Brynrefail County School in Llanddeiniolen, Caernarfonshire.
