Scope and Content

shows the new factory built by Gross, Sherwood and Heald Ltd, paint makers of Barking (1910), as well as men and women workers at the mill, grinding and mixing paint colours, vanish making, oil boiling and refining, making tin cans and finally labeling and packaging goods. The second includes an aerial view of the factory at Barking, preparations for the staff Christmas party, the staff canteen and then men and women workers on the factory floor (circa. 1910-1950).

Sherwood Paints Ltd (formerly known as Gross, Sherwood and Heald Ltd), built a new paint making factory in Barking in 1910.
