Includes letters on ecclesiastical affairs in the mid- and late-sixteenth century, transcripts of Edwardian and Elizabethan documents and copies of material relating the the diocese of Chester and Lincoln.

Acquisition Information

Belonged to Samuel Knight DD, prebend of Ely and rector of Bluntisham, Hunts. Knight may have obtained some of them from Strype with a view to completing his projected memoir of the historian. From Knight they descended to John Percy Baumgartner, who presented them to the Library in 1859.
