Scope and Content

John Cole of March, farmer, stands bound to Philip Cawthorne of Chatteris, farmer, in #400 to perform fully and to respect a surrender bearing even date of his 6 acres of fen or marsh ground in Sutton North Fen, to the use of Cawthorne and his heirs. The consideration is #260. 3 pages, signed and sealed by John Cole, witnessed by R Pigott, with receipt for the consideration money similarly signed and witnessed, duty stamps. Endorsed in red: 'Custances Lot - this is now joined to the Ell Six (part of Days Farm) and was enfranchised in 1894'. Also endorsed in pencil 'Bundle 5'.
