Vincent James Griffith Johns (b. 1872) was the eldest of the 14 children of the Rev. Thomas Johns (d. 1905) of Manorowen, Pembrokeshire, and his wife Mary Dorothy. In 1891, he was a solicitor's articled clerk in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. By 1901 he had established the firm of V. J. G. Johns in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire. The firm accumualted papers relating to its clients interests in Pembrokeshire and elsewhere. Johns married Anna John of Mathry in 1904 and they had two children, Thomas Graham Vincent Johns (b. 1909) and Raymond Vincent Johns (b. 1911). The Rev. Stephen Howells (fl. 1893-1932) was vicar of Maenclochog, Pembrokeshire.
